Centenary of Guiding – Chain of Campfires

This year marks the Centenary of Guiding movement and to celebrate the Maroondah Region Girl Guides held a campfire and singing evening at Ainslie Park in Croydon.  The evening included a variety of songs around the campfire, including several that have significance for the Guiding movement.

Despite the cold weather, several hundred Guides were in attendance and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I was accompanied by Cr. Ann Fraser, David Hodgett, MLA for Kilsyth and Tony Smith, the Federal Member for Casey. and it was great to see such widespread support for Guiding within our community.
