Yesterday morning I nominated as a candidate for Montague Ward in Port Phillip Council.
A return into local government was not something I had envisaged, but Port Phillip needs community led voices to restore good governance.
The Council should listen and act on behalf of its community – it should not require a gargantuan community effort of almost 3,000 signatures, before it acts to improve our dog off-leash spaces.
We should not be allowing the ongoing neglect of Fishermans Bend, while we wait for of endlessly promised community infrastructure and tram or train extensions, that never arrive.
Port Phillip should be a council that reliably delivers services such as waste management and leads the sector in both financial management and environmental sustainability.
Thank you to the many people who suggested I nominate. With your vote and your voice, we will be Making it Happen for Montague.
