Croydon Stroke Support Group 2009 Luncheon

The Croydon Stroke Support Group is a community organisation that provides support for people that have experienced stroke and their carers. The group provides a range of activities for its members, including an art therapy program and social outings, as well as producing information guides on stroke and its effects.

This afternoon I was invited to the Croydon Stroke Support Group’s end of year luncheon. The group has had an extremely active year, including the production of a guide for people with stroke and their carers. This guide provides information on the services that are available for people with stroke, as well as their carers, and aims to provide a source of information that can be easily found and utilised.

The group aims to establish a choir and is continuing its art therapy program to provide peer support for its members and help rebuild confidence after experiencing stroke.

In addition, the Croydon Stroke Support Group will be resuming its weekly meetings in the new year.
