Maroondah City Council is encouraging young people who enjoy skateboarding to get their skates on — and enter the South Eastern League of Skateboarding being held at Ringwood Skate Park on Saturday 12 April.
Councillor Alex Makin said Maroondah is hosting the eighth heat of the skateboarding event, which is in it’s second year of running.
“Skateboarders and families are invited to come along to Ringwood Skate Park and join in on the action or sit back and relax,” said Cr Makin.
“Ringwood Skate Park is a fantastic facility within Maroondah and it is great to be able to support the sport of Skateboarding by holding these events,” said Cr Makin.
“This competition is an opportunity for young people who enjoy keeping active by skateboarding to showcase their skills in a recognised competition,” said Cr Makin. “The competition has various age divisions including 12 and under, 16 and under, Open Male and Open Female.”
“So come along and support the young skateboarders of the community in an event which is sure to attract some of the most talented skateboarders within the area,” concluded Cr Makin.
Heat Eight of the South Eastern Skateboarding League will begin at 12.30 on Saturday 12 April at Ringwood Skate Park, Seymour St Ringwood.
