Following our tour of the Port Phillip Men’s Shed, South Melbourne Ward Cr. Beti Jay and myself, as the Montague Ward Councillor undertook an informal tour of South Melbourne Market.

Beti and I, as the relevant Ward Councillors are the two Council representatives on the South Melbourne Market Committee, responsible for overseeing the governance of the Market.

Beti and I are both regular shoppers at South Melbourne Market so this afternoon we held an informal tour speaking to each of the traders that we knew.

The South Melbourne Market serves our local Port Phillip community, alongside shoppers from across Melbourne as well as being a significant tourist attraction.

I’m looking forward to serving on the South Melbourne Market Committee to guide its future direction and performance.
